Ready to begin your child’s Montessori journey?

Elemental Arts Montessori (EAM) is located in the historical Victorian section of Beverly Square West in Brooklyn, New York. EAM is licensed by the New York City Department of Health. We are a Full Member School with the American Montessori Society.

Elemental Arts Montessori is for preschool and kindergarten children who will be 3, 4, or 5 years old, respectively, by December 31 of the year they are enrolled.

In order for us to spend the utmost time with the children, EAM has a small class size of only twelve children per session with two Montessori teachers. This allows us to offer a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment with an emphasis on individual attention for every child.

Each child is encouraged to explore their natural curiosity in order to build a life-long love of learning. Elemental Arts Montessori offers a unique experience for your child!

Why Montessori?

The Montessori method is characterized by an emphasis on self-directed activity and constant observation on the part of the teacher. It stresses the importance of adapting the child’s learning environment to his or her developmental needs. It is also characterized by the use of self-correcting materials for the introduction and mastery of various educational concepts and life skills.

Individuality

Children are valued as unique individuals, learning and advancing at their own pace, guided by teachers.

Independence

Beginning at early ages, Montessori nurtures independence through self-regulation through routines and intentional classroom settings.

Community

Multi-age Montessori classrooms foster a family-like community where older students nurture and mentor younger students. Teachers model kindness and respect in a loving environment.

Freedom

Working within parameters and classroom routines, students are able to choose what they work on and become active participants and advocates for their own education.

Social Emotional

Montessori's 100-year-old method supports and encourages social-emotional development through support of independence, self-regulation, kindness, and respect.
